Bred for its ability to produce a lot of leaf and bolt much slower than traditional old types. It boasts a good flavour and colour and grows to a height of 60-90cm (24-36″). The leaves are delicious when sprinkled over salads or in soups and the seeds can be used to flavour curries and go well with white meats and fish. Sow thinly April to June direct outdoors where they are to crop, 1.5cm (½in) deep, into finely-prepared soil. Alternatively sow seeds in succession 1.5cm (1/2in) deep, in small pots of compost , lightly covering the seed with a sprinkling of compost on a warm light windowsill all year round.
